What a wonderful, brilliant and colourful day we had on Monday with all our odd socks! Well done to all the children and staff who wore odd socks and a few odd sets of shoes. It was a fantastic opportunity to express our own individuality and celebrate that we are all unique.
On Friday, we have celebrated World Mental Health Day. All the children have all had time to relax, do some yoga and think about their Mental Health. It has been lovely to see all the children wearing something ‘Yellow’ in school to celebrate.
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back on 7th September 2020 and we’re working hard to make the school a safe, enjoyable environment. We believe that returning to school is vital for all children for their education, mental health and wellbeing. We are currently implementing a system of controls outlined by the Department of Education to reduce the risk of transmission of the coronavirus so we can ensure a safe return to school for everyone.
Further details can be found via the letter sent to all Parents and Carers on 4th September along with the Information Sheet.

On the day your child has Forest School they should come to school dressed in their Forest School clothes, they will need to wear normal shoes and bring their waterproofs and wellington boots in a separate bag.

Children in Years 3 to Year 6 were visited by Mona, an Islamic Cultural Champion.
She shared with the children the reasons behind Islamic dress and way of life. The children learnt all about the festival of Ramadan and why Muslims ‘fast’. Mona read from the Qu’ran in Arabic and much to the excitement of the children, wrote their names in Arabic! It was great for the children to be able to learn first-hand and ask questions to somebody from another culture.
The School Council have been busy this week delivering an assembly about Young Carers Awareness Day and informing the whole school about our Charity ‘Action for Children’. All children helped to bake biscuits for the event, which were enjoyed at break time today. Thank you to those who donated to this event successfully planned by our School Councillors.
