Farm Visit
Year 2 had a wonderful morning on Tuesday when they were able to go on a visit to Coleridge Farm. We had a lovely walk through Megan Lethbridge’s fields which were growing barley for food for the cattle in winter, then up through Mrs Darke’s wild meadow which they have planted for the birds and the bees. The children then walked through the field of lambs which they learnt were reared for their wool as well as for meat and we then walked through the calf field on our way to the farm.
We then went to the milking parlour where we learnt that 44 cows can be milked at
one time on their new carousel milking parlour and that the cows get on and off the carousel all by themselves! And to finish our visit we were all lucky enough to have some of their lovely strawberry or chocolate milk shake – yummy!!!!!
