Wraparound care
The Importance of Wraparound Care in Supporting Families and Children
In today’s fast-paced world, families often juggle multiple responsibilities, including work, school, extracurricular activities, and household tasks. For many parents, it can be challenging to balance these demands while ensuring their children receive the support they need for both academic and emotional growth. This is where wraparound care comes into play, providing a vital solution for working families and enhancing the overall well-being of children.
Aims
At Stokenham Explorers we aim to provide a happy, safe, secure and relaxed environment offering high quality childcare and play opportunities for your child.
We believe in the importance of enjoyment and play to a child’s wellbeing and healthy development as an individual and aim to provide an environment that is friendly and relaxed. We offer children the opportunity to freely choose activities and resources as they wish and endeavour to meet the interests of the children in our care through the range of activities that we provide.
What we offer
During every session a range of activities are on offer. Each morning, the children will be able to take part in cosmic yoga and fitness sessions as well as take part in activities such as small world play, arts and crafts, board games, construction, physical play and reading. The children will have opportunities to play both indoors and outdoors. During breakfast time the children will be encouraged to sit down together and with staff to eat and chat freely. Morning sessions aim to be a great way to get prepared for the school day ahead.
In the afternoon sessions, weather permitting, children will be offered a range of outdoor play including access to sports equipment, the school playground and outdoor fun in the forest area. During teatime, the children will be encouraged to sit down together to eat and catch up about their day. Indoor activities that will also be offered include free play with a range of stimulating toys and games, the reading and relaxation corner and a range of arts and crafts.
All staff members have appropriate in-depth professional training and significant experience of working with children. All staff are DBS checked and are fully trained in paediatric first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding.
